We have been BUSY in our classroom!!!
I just wanted to stop by and update you on some of the things we have been doing in our classroom. We have been so busy learning and READING.
In reading, students are soaring through their books. I am trying hard to influence them to read their A.R. book, and take a test to earn more A.R. points! The first few students in my class to reach 20 A.R. points get to have lunch with ME! Mrs. York is also handing out certificates for A.R. points. They can come to Night Library and read books and take test while you are there as well. (If you can help me influence them to earn more A.R. points, I would greatly appreciate it.)
In math, we have been working on tens and ones, adding, subtracting, memorizing math facts, story problems, counting money, and counting objects. We are working hard on memorizing the math facts. I sent home flash cards if you want to work with your child at home to memorize them. Counting is a big thing we do everyday in corners. You can count at home as well; It's a fun activity for your child to count, and very helpful.
I'm sending notes home today about parent teacher conference on Monday. I would like to meet with everyone of you about your child. I am enjoying each student, and can't wait to tell you all about them and what they are doing in our classroom.
P.S. I hope to get some pictures on here soon......

Meet the Teacher!
MEET THE TEACHER!
Hi! My name is Mrs. Fawcett, and I am so excited to be part of the First Grade team
at Margaret Daniel Primary. More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher!
It’s going to be a fun year, full of learning, and new adventures. I can’t wait
to see what the year has in store for us and want to know all about you, but
first, let me tell you a little about me.
I
was born and raised in DeQueen, AR and graduated from Horatio High School. In
2007, I married a wonderful man, RB. He works at Farm Bureau. I graduated from
Texas A & M- Texarkana in 2009 with my Bachelor’s degree. We have two of
the most adorable little boys. Rickar is our oldest, wild child; he will be two
in November. Ryder is our sweet, baby boy, and he will be 3 months soon. I’m
all about family and our family time. My boys keep me on my toes at all times.
I will really be missing them while I’m at school, so I will need many hugs
from you. We also have a pet yorkie who is 5; his name is Colbie.
I
look forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher. Enjoy the end of your summer.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Fawcett
